NEW CELL TOWER IMPROVES LOCAL COMMUNICATION

In response to requests, Cingular Networks recently added another much needed cell phone relay tower approximately 5 miles south of Hobbieville in the existing utility corridor just west of highway 54.  Phone coverage along highway 54 in this area was spotty at best and many people were located in totally "dead zones" where cell phones were completely useless. 

Thanks to these recent improvements, the area is now a much safer and convenient one to travel through.   Accidents can be reported more quickly and people having vehicle difficulties or roadside emergencies will be able to contact help much easier when they have a cell phone.

 Also, Many residents will now have the option of using the more competitive cell phone service over more traditional phone lines.

Hats off and many thanks to Cingular for delivering a much needed improvement in a very vital service in Eastern Greene County....
